For dedicated varsity football enthusiasts, the anticipation has finally come to an end as the men’s Varsity Football tournament, poised to energise campuses across South Africa, commences on Thursday, 7 August.
Varsity Football will take place from 7 August to 2 October, with fans expected to maintain a vibrant atmosphere, showcasing a packed lineup of South Africa’s premier football talent, featuring outstanding student-athletes and emerging football stars.
In 2024, the University of the Western Cape (UWC) men’s football team, along with their female counterparts, triumphed in Varsity Football after a gripping 8-7 penalty shootout against North West University, following a match that concluded in a 1-1 draw after regulation time.
The Varsity Football tournament will be broadcast live on SuperSport, your world of champions, and will also be available on the SuperSport Schools App.
